How Many Gods Are There? Vote Now!

It must be a slow news day, because the Denver Post’s daily news poll is about God . . . or Goddess . . . or the Gods.

“Hard”  polytheism is running at less than 2 percent, so if you can’t vote early, vote often.

I doubt than anyone is going to do anything useful with the data anyway.

Well let’s see…I think I’ll answer the question with another question. How many people are there in the world? Truthfully, we each see our Creator, Gods and/or Goddesses as differently as we are to each other. Ancient Gods and Goddesses are numerous, but as the world evolves, so do our beliefs and how we perceive those beliefs. We see each God or Goddess as a persona of a certain energy. Giving that energy a name gives our minds something to grasp and utilize in our prayer/spell work. Now, that’s just my opinion…there’s no one correct way, only, well again, how many people are there in the world? 😉

  2. Personally, I am curious about the “None of the above” responses that are sent to “Joe.” Will he be publishing them? Does he have enough room for them? I would imagine they will not be brief.

I was tempted to respond as an “None of the above” by stating yes, there are many… & still more yet to discover. Instead, I decided instead to use my vote to support Team Polytheism. The results should be interesting.

    1. Gah! Curse these un-editable submission forms! Please overlook the glaring errors. (Your previous post has made me most self conscious!)

  3. I am sure that Hardscrabble Creek’s readers contributed to polytheism getting just over 5 percent of the vote — pretty good, given the context.
