I don’t know about evangelicals, but I have had LDS women ‘friends’ no, ‘friendly acquaintances’ privately lament their lack of meaningful relationships b/c there is no time — not if you have Family Home evening on Monday, & Relief Society on Tuesday & Young Women’s on Weds, Jello Salad Committee on Thursday, etc… plus eight children of your own, plus a “calling” to fulfill.
I always felt like all that ‘busy-ness’ was a way to keep women from being alone together with idle time. If they had unstructured time together, they might talk to each other & we all know nothing good can come from that.
But we Pagans schedule some great rite action on Beltane…Don’t we???
