But then they lost to Croatia a few days later and are now out of the tournament. Those ancestors, so fickle. (See also, magic and politics).<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Still on Russian shamans:<\/strong> N<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurasiareview.com\/21062018-russias-shamans-set-up-their-own-power-vertical-and-seek-official-recognition-oped\/\">ow they are seeking official recognition as a &#8220;traditional religion<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For the first time ever, the shamans of the Russian Federation have come together and elected \u201cthe supreme shaman of Russia\u201d \u2013 Kara-ool Dopchun-ool, head of the Kyzyl Local Religious Organization of Shamans \u2013 done so by an almost unanimous vote (115 out of 166 votes) and called for official recognition as a traditional religion of the country.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And there is a &#8220;United Council of the Shamans of Russia.&#8221; How do you think that that will turn out? Is herding shamans like herding cats? Still, it is an interesting bid for greater legitimacy.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-4986 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.chasclifton.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/pentagrampizza.jpg?resize=224%2C262&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"262\" \/>\u2022 Can occult studies make you crazy? Or just a little unbalanced?<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailygrail.com\/2018\/05\/hungry-ghosts\/\">Over the years, as I\u2019ve studied this subject, I\u2019ve encountered a fair number of cautionary tales. People who become unduly interested in psychic phenomena \u2013 interested to the point of obsession \u2013 can find their mental health deteriorating, their relationships fragmenting, and their social status undermined. Of course, obsession is a bad thing regardless of its focus, but I suspect that it\u2019s easier to become obsessed with the paranormal than with, say, stamp collecting. Something about this field of inquiry tends to draw people in and make them vulnerable to harm.<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailygrail.com\/2018\/05\/hungry-ghosts\/\">Read the whole thing.<\/a> Was Arthur Conan Doyle driven over the edge?
