{"id":946,"date":"2007-11-02T04:08:00","date_gmt":"2007-11-02T04:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=946"},"modified":"2007-11-02T04:08:00","modified_gmt":"2007-11-02T04:08:00","slug":"altars-at-the-student-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=946","title":{"rendered":"Altars at the Student Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chasclifton.com\/2007\/11\/state-sponsored-paganism.html\">As promised<\/a>, three of today&#8217;s altars at the state university erected for the Day of the Dead (D&iacute;a de los muertos).<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chasclifton.com\/graphics\/vlad.altar.jpg?w=625\" align=\"center\"><br \/>An  altar to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vlad_III_Dracula\">Vlad the Impaler<\/a>, also known as Dracula, from the history and art clubs. Club members admitted that it was a bit short on Roumanian content. One girl speculated about an impaled head that she had seen somewhere; all agreed that a big spike would have helped.<\/p>\n<p>After all, he was just a hard-working prince holding off the Islamic menace. Off the the left, out of the frame, was a bottled pre-mixed <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mojito\">mojito cocktail<\/a>, which the builders agreed could not be left there overnight. (Apparently <em>La Virgen<\/em> likes mojitos.)
