People say these things are cyclical.<\/p>\n<p>Now Joe &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Vampires-Today-Truth-Modern-Vampirism\/dp\/0313364729\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1399342461&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=Joseph+Laycock\">Vampires<\/a>&#8221; Laycock weighs in: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.religiondispatches.org\/dispatches\/josephlaycock\/7843\/why_hipsters_may_be_perfect_source_for_brooklyn_occult_revival\/\">Why Hipsters May Be Perfect Source for Brooklyn Occult Revival<\/a>,&#8221; a sort of Durkheimian look at the same idea.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>More than their magical services, magicians offer their clients the chance to interact with a fascinating personality. Exotic objects and spiritual narratives help clients to feel that they are receiving personalized attention from metaphysical forces, directed at them through the magician.<\/p>\n<p>In this sense, it is not surprising that Brooklyn\u2014commonly associated with Hipsters\u2014is producing compelling magicians.
