It&#8217;s the usual &#8220;Don&#8217;t go up those stairs! Don&#8217;t open that door!&#8221; sort of plot, but what gives it its twist&#8211;more than the conjured <a href=\"http:\/\/www.luckymojo.com\/hoodoo.html\">Hoodoo<\/a> atmosphere that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theskeletonkeymovie.com\/\">the movie<\/a> tries to evoke and the echoes of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0001201\/\">Mia Farrow<\/a> in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0063522\/\"><em>Rosemary&#8217;s Baby<\/em><\/a>&#8211;is the thought that it must have been the last movie partly filmed in New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s like looking at pre-war Berlin or something. We will not see those street scenes again.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.yronwode.com\/catherine.html\">Cat Yronwode<\/a>, owner of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.luckymojo.com\/index.html\">Lucky Mojo<\/a>, was the hoodoo consultant.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>M. and I watched The Skeleton Key, a middling thriller starring Kate Hudson.
