{"id":559,"date":"2005-11-15T20:07:00","date_gmt":"2005-11-15T20:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=559"},"modified":"2005-11-15T20:07:00","modified_gmt":"2005-11-15T20:07:00","slug":"559","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=559","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Blog splat<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am taking a break from blogging for the next eight to ten days because I leave on Wednesday for the intellectual carnival that is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aarweb.org.\">American Academy of Religion<\/a>&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sbl-site.org\/\">Society of Biblical Literature<\/a> combined annual meeting.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s in Philadelphia this year. Our last meeting there was in 1995, and I spent much of the time walking the steets looking for sites and building associated with the career of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Charles_Godfrey_Leland\">Charles Leland<\/a>, author of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.phoenixpublishing.com\/\"><em>Aradia: Or the Gospel of the Witches<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sacred-texts.com\/pag\/err\/\"><em>Etruscan Roman Remains<\/em><\/a>, among other things.<\/p>\n<p>This year should be different: We have the first official <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chasclifton.com\/2005\/08\/pagan-studies-nature-religion-at-aar.html\">Pagan Studies sessions<\/a>, plus I will be meeting with my publisher to determine such weighty matters as what comes after the colon in the book title now tentatively known as <em>Her Hidden Children: Paganism and Nature Religion in America<\/em>. They are telling me that the publication date is March 2006 and that the paperback will be $19.95.
