The local news had carried the story of yet another <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chieftain.com\/metro\/1126081182\/9\">lost mushroom hunter<\/a>, so she kept reminding me that she had no sense of direction and it was my job to get us back to the Jeep.<\/p>\n<p>We found a couple of good king boletes and also a patch of &#8220;Hawk&#8217;s wing,&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/herbarium.biology.colostate.edu\/slides\/sarcodon_imbricatus.html\"><em>Sarcodon imbricatus<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It was a new mushroom to us, but I sat down on a stump,  whipped out my copy of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chasclifton.com\/2005\/08\/local-knowledge-three-cheers-for-vera.html\"><em>Mushrooms of Colorado<\/em><\/a> and decided that it would be OK.<\/p>\n<p>Still, before tasting the main dish tonight at supper, I lifted my fork to M. and said, &#8220;I want you to know that I always loved you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Have some more mushrooms,&#8221; she replied.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s how we keep the magic in our marriage.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/technorati.com\/tag\/mushroom\" rel=\"tag\">Mushrooms<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Love and fungus M. and I went mushrooming today in the Wets.
