{"id":431,"date":"2005-05-08T03:17:00","date_gmt":"2005-05-08T03:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=431"},"modified":"2005-05-08T03:17:00","modified_gmt":"2005-05-08T03:17:00","slug":"431","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=431","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The missing hyperlink<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is customary in the blogosphere to link to items that you are quoting&#8211;unless you are afraid, apparently, that your readers might actually follow that link.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, conservative Catholic blogger Amy Welborn (my cyber-neighbor at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/blogheaven\/default.aspx\">Blog Heaven<\/a>) recently <a href=\"http:\/\/amywelborn.typepad.com\/openbook\/2005\/05\/pagan_predators.html\">viewed with alarm<\/a> a Wiccan&#8217;s writing on sexual predators in the Wiccan community.<\/p>\n<p>The comments are . . . interesting.<\/p>\n<p>But what is missing? There is no hyperlink. Had she placed one, readers might have seen that essayist Lisa McSherry mentioned Catholic sexual predators as well. (Read McSherry&#8217;s entire essay <a href=\"http:\/\/www.witchvox.com\/va\/dt_va.html?a=usxx&#038;c=words&#038;id=9181\">here<\/a> on the Witches&#8217; Voice site.)
