{"id":411,"date":"2005-04-16T16:26:00","date_gmt":"2005-04-16T16:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=411"},"modified":"2005-04-16T16:26:00","modified_gmt":"2005-04-16T16:26:00","slug":"411","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=411","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Episcopalians and Druids, cont.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The saga of the two married Episcopal clergy who were <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chasclifton.com\/2004\/10\/more-on-episcopagans-druid-episcopal.html\">denounced by their denomination&#8217;s conservative wing<\/a> for participation in Druidry has a new twist. <\/p>\n<p>After <a href=\"http:\/\/www.philly.com\/mld\/philly\/10124748.htm\"> resigning his pastoral post last November<\/a>, the husband, William Melnyk, has decided that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.philly.com\/mld\/philly\/11397667.htm\">Druidry is more welcoming<\/a>. William Melnyk, former rector of St. James&#8217; Episcopal Church, has formed the Llynhydd Grove of the Druid Order of the Yew, which he is leading under his Druid name, OakWyse.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>He told the Philadelphia Inquirer that his move was &#8220;a joyous occasion.&#8221; His wife, Glyn Ruppe-Melnyk, who kept her parish, said she supports her husband&#8217;s decision to &#8220;exercise his ministry in an interfaith context, which was not available to him strictly within the ordained ministry of the Episcopal church.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>More links and a photo at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wildhunt.org\/2005\/04\/episcopagan-scandal-update-back-in.html\">Wildhunt blog<\/a>.
