{"id":31,"date":"2003-08-04T01:52:00","date_gmt":"2003-08-04T01:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=31"},"modified":"2011-08-22T12:14:18","modified_gmt":"2011-08-22T18:14:18","slug":"the-pomegranate-is-reborn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=31","title":{"rendered":"The Pomegranate is reborn!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a hiatus of nearly two years while we sought a new publisher (a process that began at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aarweb.org\/\">American Academy of Religion <\/a>annual meeting in Denver in 2001), <i>The Pomegranate: The Journal of Pagan Studies <\/i>has a new publisher and will resume print publication in May 2004.<\/p>\n<p>As the new editor, replacing Fritz Muntean, I have signed a contract with Equinox Publishing, a new firm started by Janet Joyce, formerly academic editorial director at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.continuumbooks.com\">Continuum&#8217;s <\/a>London office. The Equinox <a href=\"http:\/\/www.equinoxpub.com\">Web site<\/a> is not fully put together yet; check it at the end of August.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;The Pagan Studies <a href=\"http:\/\/www.altamirapress.com\/Catalog\/MultiBook.shtml?command=Search&amp;db=^DB\/catalog.db&amp;startat=1&amp;max=12&amp;wsRELATED_SERIESdata=Pagan+Studies+Series&amp;RELATED_SERIESword=ww&amp;YEAR_MOsort=1&amp;YEAR_MOtype=num&amp;YEAR_MOsdir=de&amp;AllReqd=T\">book series<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;The daylong Pagan Studies conference at AAR-SBL in Atlanta<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;And now the return of The Pomegranate, heir, in a roundabout way to <i>Iron Mountain: A Journal of Magical Religion<\/i> and to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lumen.org\">Gnosis: A Journal of the Western Esoteric Tradition<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This will be the year that Pagan Studies happens at AAR-SBL, a slow process that has been building since 1995, when Dennis Carpenter and Selena Fox organized (and then dropped out of) the first Pagan scholars&#8217;  meeting there.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a hiatus of nearly two years while we sought a new publisher (a process that began at the American Academy of Religion annual meeting in Denver in 2001), The Pomegranate: The Journal of Pagan Studies has a new publisher and will resume print publication in May 2004.
