{"id":2606,"date":"2011-05-03T11:51:58","date_gmt":"2011-05-03T17:51:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=2606"},"modified":"2011-05-03T11:52:42","modified_gmt":"2011-05-03T17:52:42","slug":"why-i-have-not-been-blogging","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=2606","title":{"rendered":"Why I Have Not Been Blogging"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Everything in my normal life <a href=\"http:\/\/natureblog.blogspot.com\/2011\/04\/two-crazy-days-part-1.html\">stopped last Friday,<\/a> and it is just starting to get back to normal. A 560-acre forest fire is not like all the tornadoes down South\u2014for one thing, you can <em>fight<\/em> a forest fire to some extent\u2014but it is a big disruption when it is close to your house\u2014within half a mile, in our case.<\/p>\n<p>After our<a href=\"http:\/\/natureblog.blogspot.com\/2011\/05\/2-crazy-days-part-2-e-word.html\"> evacuation order was canceled<\/a>, and M. and I were back home, we started feeling the desire to clean everything. Not that it was smoked up, the house just felt grubby and messy after a long winter.<\/p>\n<p>When I made my<a href=\"http:\/\/natureblog.blogspot.com\/2011\/05\/2-crazy-days-part-3-no-structures.html\"> quick trip home on Saturday morning<\/a>, the power was off, the house cool and dark,\u00a0 shaded from the early morning sun by the ridge to the east. The previous morning&#8217;s dirty dishes were still on the counter, stuff was tossed around from our quick evacuation packing.<\/p>\n<p>And so I though, &#8220;As soon as I get back here permanently, assuming that I do, it&#8217;s time to start paying attention to the house, the garden, and the physical plane in general.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Of course, <a href=\"http:\/\/natureblog.blogspot.com\/2011\/05\/telephoto-shot-of-skycrane-air-tanker.html\">when we came home, it was snowing<\/a>, but we&#8217;ll take all the moisture that we can get.<\/p>\n<p>I do have some blog posts stored in my head and will be getting to them over the next three days.<a href=\"http:\/\/beltania.org\/\"> Then it&#8217;s festival time<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Everything in my normal life stopped last Friday, and it is just starting to get back to normal.
