{"id":2414,"date":"2011-02-27T19:12:54","date_gmt":"2011-02-28T02:12:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=2414"},"modified":"2011-02-27T19:16:51","modified_gmt":"2011-02-28T02:16:51","slug":"riddle-me-this","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=2414","title":{"rendered":"Riddle Me This"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have two blogs, this one and <em><a href=\"http:\/\/natureblog.blogspot.com\">Southern Rockies Nature Blog<\/a>, <\/em>and I switch between them as the mood and topic strike me.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Truth Laid Bear <\/em>&#8220;ecosystem&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/onlinemediacultist.com\/2009\/12\/14\/remembering-the-truth-laid-bear\/\">ranking of the blogosphere is long dead, alas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So now<a href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\"> <em>Technorati <\/em><\/a>seems to be the winner in blog-ranking systems.<\/p>\n<p>This blog, <em>Letter from Hardscrabble Creek, <\/em> has two to three times more daily visitors than does my\u00a0 <em><a href=\"http:\/\/natureblog.blogspot.com\">Southern Rockies Nature Blog<\/a>.<\/em>Yet <em>Southern Rockies<\/em> has a <em>Technorati<\/em> &#8220;authority&#8221; rating, as of today, of 434, whereas <em>Hardscrabble Creek <\/em>comes in at merely 125.<\/p>\n<p>Is it just that the Technorati system does not handle religion well as a topic? They list 6,758 blogs under that heading. Number one is a Roman Catholic blog, <a href=\"http:\/\/wdtprs.com\/blog\/\"><em>What Does the Prayer Really Say?<\/em><\/a> Is that really the most popular religion blog out there?<\/p>\n<p>Not surprisingly, <a href=\" http:\/\/wildhunt.org\/blog\/\"><em>The Wild Hunt <\/em><\/a>comes in tops on a &#8220;Paganism&#8221; search (authority 485), followed by<a href=\"http:\/\/aquilakahecate.blogspot.com\/\"><em> Aquila ka Hecate<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Erudite commentary welcome.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have two blogs, this one and Southern Rockies Nature Blog, and I switch between them as the mood and topic strike me.
