Via Hecate of Washington, DC, <a href=\"http:\/\/hecatedemetersdatter.blogspot.com\/2010\/11\/not-even-pagans.html\">a link to a Vimeo slideshow of the &#8220;Rappahanock Halloween Festival&#8221;<\/a> sponsored by the<span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\"> Summerisle<\/span> Old Dominion Hunt in northern Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>She comments, &#8220;How many Pagan Samhein [<em>sic<\/em>] events have you been to that even come close to this? I&#8217;ve  been thinking a lot lately about how often we Pagans &#8216;skip&#8217;\u00a0 the  elements of ritual that appeal to Younger Child.  Maybe we, in the words  of the LOLcat posters, R doing it wrong.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>2. From the House of Vines, a link with the comment, &#8220;This<a href=\"http:\/\/thehouseofvines.wordpress.com\/2010\/11\/14\/wild-beasts-all-the-kings-men\/\"> <em>music video<\/em> gets it more right <\/a>than most of the Pagan rituals I\u2019ve been to.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>When I worked with Evan John Jones on the book <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Sacred-Mask-Dance-Llewellyns-Craft\/dp\/1567183735\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1290099845&amp;sr=1-1\"><em>Sacred Mask, Sacred Dance<\/em><\/a>, I found a passage in the book <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Ritual-animal-disguise-historical-geographical\/dp\/0847660052\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1290099882&amp;sr=1-1\"><em>Ritual Animal Disguise<\/em><\/a> by the British folklorist E.C. Cawte about how school children introduced to masked mumming immediately absorbed the parts of Stag and Dog and so on.
