{"id":1993,"date":"2010-11-15T21:30:54","date_gmt":"2010-11-16T04:30:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=1993"},"modified":"2010-11-15T21:32:36","modified_gmt":"2010-11-16T04:32:36","slug":"the-dream-philosophical-academy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=1993","title":{"rendered":"The Dream Philosophical Academy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three night ago, I was dreaming that someone was lecturing on some sort of gnostic philosophy. &#8220;Gnostic&#8221; was the term used in the dream, although it might not have been appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>The lecturer drew a distinction between the Pagan view of &#8220;remembering&#8221; the soul&#8217;s perfection, versus a Christian approach of attempting to become more and more perfect.<\/p>\n<p>The former, at least, seems like fairly mainstream<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Platonism\"> Platonic<\/a> teaching.<\/p>\n<p>All this was followed by a very cinematic dream about a young man returning by train to his home town in Wyoming. Since<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amtrak.com\/servlet\/ContentServer?pagename=Amtrak\/HomePage\"> Amtrak<\/a> does not serve Wyoming, and since it seemed that through <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Computer-generated_imagery\">CGI<\/a> that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.windriverrange.com\/\">Wind River Range <\/a>had been moved closer to the town, it was clear that I was dreaming.<\/p>\n<p>The way I figure it, I had just joined the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.aseweb.org\/\"> Association for the Study of Esotericism<\/a> because of some new projects that I am pursuing, and they were just getting my coordinates into their dream-projector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three night ago, I was dreaming that someone was lecturing on some sort of gnostic philosophy. &#8220;Gnostic&#8221; was the term used in the dream, although it might not have been appropriate.
