{"id":1326,"date":"2010-03-09T23:16:00","date_gmt":"2010-03-09T23:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=1326"},"modified":"2010-03-09T23:16:00","modified_gmt":"2010-03-09T23:16:00","slug":"a-slap-from-the-colorado-legislature","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=1326","title":{"rendered":"A Slap from the Colorado Legislature"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Because Colorado&#8217;s lawmakers in their wisdom are trying\u2014and failing\u2014to make Amazon.com collect state sales tax, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/search\/ci_14637785\">Amazon has cut off all of its Colorado affiliates<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>From my perspective, the legislators were willing to sacrifice individual &#8220;Amazon affiliates&#8221; who happen to live in Colorado (like me). In return, they get nothing except the satisfaction of making some kind of point that will be lost in the general political noise.<\/p>\n<p>I never made big money as an Amazon affiliate. It was about enough to pay my Web-hosting and email account bills for the year.
