{"id":1307,"date":"2010-02-08T16:07:00","date_gmt":"2010-02-08T16:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=1307"},"modified":"2010-02-08T16:07:00","modified_gmt":"2010-02-08T16:07:00","slug":"air-force-academy-turns-back-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=1307","title":{"rendered":"Air Force Academy &quot;Turns Back Time&quot;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Back on January 27th, I mentioned that the US Air Force Academy, located near Colorado Springs, had created a<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chasclifton.com\/2010\/01\/nature-religion-at-air-force-academy.html\"> ritual space for followers of Pagan religions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jason Pitzl-Waters has been<a href=\"http:\/\/wildhunt.org\/blog\/2010\/02\/more-on-that-air-force-academy-circle.html\"> keeping up on various reactions,<\/a> including some form of magic performed by (presumably) evangelical Christians, who think that putting two large crossed bits of lumber on the circle will somehow negate it. (My first thought: firewood!)<\/p>\n<p>At least one writer to the <i>Colorado Springs Gazette<\/i> accuses the Air Force of romanticizing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gazette.com\/opinion\/letters-93772-academy-loves.html\">druids who performed human sacrifice.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It is shocking to contemplate a revival of druidic sacrifice. Can you imagine the Air Force procurement process for victims?
