{"id":1290,"date":"2010-01-22T21:12:00","date_gmt":"2010-01-22T21:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=1290"},"modified":"2010-01-22T21:12:00","modified_gmt":"2010-01-22T21:12:00","slug":"a-pagan-festival-just-up-the-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=1290","title":{"rendered":"A Pagan Festival Just up the Road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this month, I was reading the<i> Ca\u00f1on City Daily Record<\/i>\u2014a humdrum piece about a city council meeting in the nearby town of Florence\u2014when <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canoncitydailyrecord.com\/Top-Story.asp?ID=12648\">this<\/a> jumped out at me:<\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;We are welcoming to a great variety of spiritual seekers who would classify themselves in many ways, including alternative spirituality, metaphysical, holistic wellness, new age, neo-pagan Earth religion, ecospirituality, native American tradition, Buddhist, Sufi, meditation and yoga practitioners, tribal drumming musicians, feminist Goddesses spirituality, and Kabbalah mysticism.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Whoa! I thought. Pagans in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sangres.com\/colorado\/fremont\/florence.htm\">Florence<\/a>? (Actually, there are a handful.)<\/p>\n<p>It turned out that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beltanefestival.com\/\">Beltania festival<\/a>, which had been in northern Colorado, is moving south.
