{"id":1239,"date":"2009-10-28T17:55:00","date_gmt":"2009-10-28T17:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=1239"},"modified":"2009-10-28T17:55:00","modified_gmt":"2009-10-28T17:55:00","slug":"dining-above-the-dead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=1239","title":{"rendered":"Dining above the Dead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I opened the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canoncitydailyrecord.com\/\"><i>Ca\u00f1on City Daily Record<\/i> <\/a>on Monday and learned that M. and I have been dining above the dead.<\/p>\n<p>One of our two favorite cafes in the nearby town of Florence, Colo., is the <a href=\"http:\/\/natureblog.blogspot.com\/2008\/06\/fresh-food-in-florence.html\">Aspen Leaf Bakery<\/a>, which, it turns out, is the second-most haunted locale in that county. (The first is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.prisonmuseum.org\/\">Prison Museum<\/a>, a former women&#8217;s prison, in Ca\u00f1on City. Funny about that.)<\/p>\n<p>According to the article, local ghost-hunters say the basement of the Aspen Leaf&#8217;s building seems to be a &#8220;meeting space&#8221; for spirits. &#8220;No one&#8217;s died there,&#8221; said one ghost-hunter. &#8220;So they&#8217;re just hanging around.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The <i>Daily Record<\/i> offers no link (typical!) but at the Ca\u00f1on Ghost Trackers web site, you can follow their investigations and listen <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canon-ghost-trackers.com\/evidence.html\">to their audio evidence.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>NOTE:&nbsp; If all the audio recordings start playing at once (depending on your browser settings), that does indeed sound spooky.<\/p>\n<p>My own experience has been more one of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0936564296?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=chascli-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=0936564296\">meta-ghost-hunting<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" class=\" mkkdjtnzxrabhlypywkd mkkdjtnzxrabhlypywkd\" height=\"1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=chascli-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=0936564296\" style=\"border: medium none ! important; margin: 0px ! important;\" width=\"1\" \/>.
