{"id":1228,"date":"2009-10-18T16:08:00","date_gmt":"2009-10-18T16:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=1228"},"modified":"2009-10-18T16:08:00","modified_gmt":"2009-10-18T16:08:00","slug":"colorado-pagans-to-lose-festival-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=1228","title":{"rendered":"Colorado Pagans To Lose Festival Site"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A television news report says that the private Wellington Lake campground, site of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dragonfest.org\/\">Dragonfest<\/a> and several other Colorado Pagan festivals, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.9news.com\/news\/article.aspx?storyid=125183&amp;catid=188\">is closing for the winter and possibly permanently<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The campground was operated by a concessionaire, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.castlemountainrecreation.com\/\">Castle Mountain Recreation<\/a>. The lake itself is part of the Denver suburb of Thornton&#8217;s water system.<\/p>\n<p>The closure <a href=\"http:\/\/theflume.com\/main.asp?SectionID=1&amp;SubSectionID=1&amp;ArticleID=6503\">would affect the nearby town of Bailey<\/a>, the last stop before the lake for those coming from the Denver area.<\/p>\n<p>Rumor has it that the closure is indeed permanent and that some other use is planned for the site\u2014luxury mountain homes?<\/p>\n<p>More when I hear about it.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">UPDATE, October 19th: <\/span>A massive yard sale of all equipment, boats, trucks, etc. from <a href=\"http:\/\/westernlegends1.com\/_wsn\/page5.html\">Wellington Trading Post<\/a> will be held at Wellington Lake from 9-6 each day, Oct. 23-25.
