{"id":10477,"date":"2019-05-03T14:00:47","date_gmt":"2019-05-03T20:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=10477"},"modified":"2019-05-03T14:00:47","modified_gmt":"2019-05-03T20:00:47","slug":"bejayus-its-the-eco-fairies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=10477","title":{"rendered":"Bejayus, It&#8217;s the Eco-Fairies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the last of the four-part post about &#8220;the cousins&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=10399\">start the series here<\/a>), I raised the question of what do fairies look like.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the man who knows, says the (Irish) <em>Independent:<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"p402_hide\">\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.ie\/business\/farming\/rural-life\/looking-at-fairies-on-my-farm-is-the-same-as-looking-at-traffic-in-dublin-farmer-who-has-the-words-celebrates-may-day-38069755.html\">\u201cLooking at fairies on my farm is the same as looking at traffic in Dublin. But they don\u2019t come everyday.\u201d<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"p402_hide\">\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI kind of expect it. When I was younger if I hadn\u2019t seen them, you\u2019d think there was something wrong. I\u2019ve seen them on a good few occasions after that.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Galway farmer Pat Noone is used to encounters with the Good Neighbors, and he says they sent him a message.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8220;I was coming down after looking at the cows in that 16-acre field. I heard the music and saw the fairies dancing and I went over and got talking to them. They talked English to me, I had no problem talking to them. They told me they just wanted me to keep the land the way it was, and told me not to take any of the bushes out. I listened to the music and I went home.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cI have great luck with the stock, with farming, you\u2019ll have your ups and downs with sick animals and nature takes its course, but overall I\u2019ve had very good luck with the farm. And I don\u2019t use any chemicals or sprays. That\u2019s what the fairies told me. I use no weed killers at all whatsoever. It\u2019s not the modern farm that people expect, I let the ditches grow naturally and then trim them back with the saw. It\u2019s left naturally here.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Chemical-free farming.
