{"id":1037,"date":"2008-06-26T20:56:00","date_gmt":"2008-06-26T20:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=1037"},"modified":"2008-06-26T20:56:00","modified_gmt":"2008-06-26T20:56:00","slug":"denver-post-discovers-local-pagans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.chasclifton.com\/?p=1037","title":{"rendered":"Denver Post Discovers Local Pagans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Denver&#8217;s Pagan community is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/commented\/ci_9695062\">featured in <em>The Denver Post<\/em><\/a> According to chatter on the local listservs, the &#8220;leaving a bottle of whiskey&#8221; bit was the reporter&#8217;s misunderstanding.<\/p>\n<p>Not surprisingly, Colorado&#8217;s hard-working Wiccan  chaplains were completely ignored <a href=\"http:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/newsheadlines\/ci_9654628\">in this <em>Post<\/em> article<\/a>, which seems to suggest that only the Middle Eastern Monotheisms&trade; can rehabilitate state prison inmates.<\/p>\n<p>But at least the newer piece mentions them:<\/p>\n<p><em>Brennan and Anthony also serve as state prison chaplains. Their services are in demand by 500 self-identified pagans who account for 2 percent of the state prison population. Inmate neopagans include Wiccans, druids and the Asatru, who worship Odin and other Norse gods.
