You give to the gods, they give to you, right? There was even carryover into the Middle Eastern monotheisms \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/templates\/story\/story.php?storyId=113179433\">Kapparot for some Jews,<\/a>\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-3248041\/Muslims-world-gather-sacrifice-cattle-celebration-Eid-al-Adha-festival-families-look-on.html\">sacrifices of sheep or cattle at Eid al-Adha<\/a>, and of course Jesus as the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lamb_of_God\">lamb of God<\/a>&#8221; who is the supreme sacrifice.
