Oh how I wish that my local government would occasionally “go dark” so I could see the stars better with my little 3″ telescope! The local university has “star parties” every month when classes are in session and I go there regularly. Unfortunately, despite them being up on one of the highest points around, there’s so much light pollution I’m surprised you can see anything with the 6″ telescopes that are there for the use by the public.

Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen as people couldn’t care less about science around here. 🙁
