Most of the libraries around here that subscribe to The Pomegranate, get it only as part of a huge package deal from the American Theological Library Association (ATLA). But ATLA has not provided any issues since 2012. My efforts to find out from ATLA why this is so have been in vain. Has ATLa dropped The Pomegranate? (It’s not even indexing it now.) Or has Equinox been remiss in supplying the journal to ATLA? Can you find out from Equinox what is going on here, Chas?

Chas, it seems as though the problem is with an interface somewhere in the ATLA – Library world. I just now discovered that I can access any Pomegranate article through something called “The ATLA Religion Database with ATLA Serials,” to which Brown subscribes. This is despite Brown’s own catalogue (like Harvard’s) indicating that electronic access to The Pomegranate stops with the volume for 2012.

        1. Also this from our man at ATLA:

We’re sorry that anyone had trouble finding the issues. We have actually delivered the first issue from 2014 of Pomegranate to EBSCO, as well as the full text. There is unfortunately a bug in the Publications Tool that is preventing that journal from being searched properly (EBSCO is trying to resolve that), but you can find it if you do the following search on the advanced search page:

–Set publication year to 2014 (or enter range of 2014 to 2014)

–Enter JN “Pomegranate” into the search box

That should retrieve the first issue of 2014.

Meanwhile, we will post the full text for the second issue from 2014 once it has been indexed.
